Best Time To Visit in Bir Billing

The best time to visit Bir Billing is during the months of April to June i.e. summer. During the monsoon season, there is heavy rainfall and there may be a risk of landslides and winters can fall to zero with temperature. 

October and November are the ideal months for paragliding from autumn and March to May. The best time to visit Bir is from March to June and from late September to November.

How to Reach in Bir Billing

By Air: If you want to go to Bir Billing by air then please tell that the nearest airport is Gaggal Airport. Which is located 67.6 km from the city of Bir. Gaggal Airport is well connected with most airports in the country. You can take help of autorickshaws, buses, and taxis to get from the airport to Bir. It will take you about 3 hours to cover the distance from Gaggal to Bir by road.

By Road: Regular bus services are easily available to the city of Bir. You can also take a bus or taxi to Bir from day or night, Shimla, Dharamshala etc.

By Train: For the tourists who want to travel by train, then tell them that there is no direct rail connectivity to Bir. The nearest broad gauge station is at Pathankot, which is located 112.4 km away while the nearest narrow gauge station is at Ahju, which is barely 3 km from Bir. A toy train runs from Pathankot to Ajju.

1. Kareri Lake

Kareri Lake is a shallow and fresh water lake located in the Dhauladhar Range, about 9 km northwest of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, whose surface is 2934 meters above sea level. In addition to being a major scenic spot, the Kareri Lake is also a very popular trekking spot in the Dhauladhar Range.  

The water in this lake is met by melting snow and this lake is Kaif shallow in it water visibility is very high. Most of the backpackers traveling to Himachal Pradesh come for trekking or Indrahar pass circuit trekking, it is a short trek to Karari Lake which gives a luxurious and serene experience.

Brajeshwari Temple is one of the major temples of Kangra. This temple is one of the most influential and spiritually enlightening places for tourists. This temple is included among the most prominent temples of Kangra as it is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India.

3. Kangra Fort

Kangra Fort is located 20 km from Dharamshala city on the outskirts of Kangra city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This fort is a big witness of its thousands of years of grandeur, invasion, war, wealth and development. This powerful fort tells the origin of the Trigarta kingdom, which is mentioned in the epic Mahabharata. 

Let us tell you that this fort is the largest in the Himalayas and probably the oldest fort in India, which is situated on the lower valley of Beas and its tributaries. It is said that there was a time when this fort had Unimaginable wealth was kept which was offered to the large idol in the Brijeshwari temple located inside this fort. Chamunda Devi Temple is an ancient temple and a major attractive site located in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh state. Chamunda Devi Temple was built in the year 1762 by Umed Singh. Situated in the forest of Patidar and Lahla, this temple is completely made of wood. 

Situated on the banks of river Baner, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, who is known as the Goddess of War. Earlier there were only cut stone ways at this place, but now you have to climb 400 stairs to see this temple. As another alternative, you can easily reach Chamba via a 3 km long concrete road.
